3D Generalist/Digital Artist

 

We are looking for an artist of moderate experience and professional training in animation and 3D asset design. Industry experience is a bonus, but not necessary.

We need a proactive creative who’s passionate about the work they do, and who’ll be able to wear a variety of hats we we grow our team.

You will be working with and reporting to our Head of Art and Design.

In this role you will be:
 

  • Creating game assets from concept to completion

  • Making practical concept art of everything from environmental features to playable characters and NPCs.

  • Modelling 3D models of all in-game assets, making clean useable UV maps as well as being optimized for effective rigging.

  • Texturing the characters and the world they exist in (Hand Painted Textures)

  • Rigging models for animation

  • Animating 3D character models as well as creating 2D animations for effects and sprites

  • Designing UI assets for in game HUD and game menus

    You will be working with a growing team, and as we expand we will make sure people specialize in the areas they shine in.

Requirements:

Program use:

  • Autodesk Maya for modelling, rigging, uv unwrapping, animation (you do not need an intimate knowledge of rendering, materials or scripting for maya, but this is a bonus.)

  • Adobe Photoshop for general 2D assets from graphic design and UI to web assets.

  • 2D Animation program of your choice

  • 3DCoat (this can be taught in the first few weeks easily.)

Drawing

We need a confident 2D artist with plenty of experience. Technical skill with polygons and vectors mean very little without fundamental knowledge. This is required for 2D asset creation and is a necessary all-around skill.

3D Modelling

Building assets for games requires not only the understanding of 3D modelling software, but also ability to work around polygon economies and building effective models for rigging for animation.

3D Texturing

Ability to make efficient, effective diffuse layers to enhance a model is an important skill to have. We’ll be looking for evidence of this in your portfolio.

Animation

Assets will need to be animated for in-game use, as well as 2D effects and sprites. Fundamental knowledge of animation will be necessary.
